About 99 Hudson
Situated in Jersey City, New Jersey, 99 Hudson stands tall as a remarkable 79-story condominium building. This complex is the tallest building not only in Jersey City but also in the entire state of New Jersey. Furthermore, it is the 46th tallest building in the United States outside of New York City and Chicago. Spanning a vast expanse of 1.4 million square feet, this exceptional structure boasts an impressive collection of 781 condominium units, ranging from cozy studios to spacious three-bedroom layouts.
The development plans for the project were initially unveiled in March 2014. Originally, the plans outlined the construction of two towers. However, when the ownership of the land changed hands, the plans were modified to feature a single tower reaching a height of 950 feet. The city granted approval for the building in early 2015.
To comply with regulations, the building needed to receive approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) since it exceeded a height of 899 feet, which is the limit for buildings in Jersey City. The FAA granted its approval in early 2016. Construction work commenced on January 29, 2016, with the groundbreaking ceremony. The construction reached its highest point in September 2018, marking the completion of the building's structure. The building was fully completed and move-in ready in 2020.
99 Hudson occupies an entire city block in the downtown area. The building boasts a convenient porte-cochere entrance that leads to the lobby and parking garage. Within the building, you'll find three spacious open plazas, providing residents with inviting outdoor spaces. Above an eight-story podium, there is a charming residential rooftop garden. Adjacent to the sidewalk, you'll notice storefronts featuring large windows nestled between sturdy limestone piers.
